Advanced interior basement drainage
Multi-Flow® Basement Waterproofing Drainage System
A fast-acting, low-profile drainage solution designed to collect water along the basement perimeter and move it toward a sump pump before it can spread across your floor.
Built to collect and transport water
What Is Multi-Flow?
Multi-Flow is a panel-shaped drainage product with multiple open flow channels wrapped in a geotextile filter fabric.
In an interior basement waterproofing system, the drainage channel is positioned where water commonly enters—near the wall-and-floor joint or beneath the slab—and then connected to a properly sized sump system.
Its tall, narrow profile creates more contact with surrounding drainage material than a small round pipe while keeping the excavation channel compact. That combination can support fast water collection, efficient installation, and a clean finished repair.

Why KCS may recommend it
Features That Matter in a Wet Basement
A drainage system must do two things well: collect incoming water and carry it safely to the sump pump. Multi-Flow is designed around both jobs.
Large Water-Collection Surface
The vertical panel exposes a broad filtered surface to wet stone and soil, allowing water to reach the drain at multiple elevations.
Open, Unobstructed Channels
Multiple round channels transport collected water along the perimeter and toward the discharge connection.
Geotextile Filtration
A fabric wrap helps keep sand and soil particles from entering the core, supporting long-term flow when installed with suitable drainage material.
Narrow Excavation Profile
The thin panel shape can fit into a more compact channel than many traditional drainage configurations, which may reduce concrete removal and backfill volume.
Flexible Around Corners
The bendable product and connector system help installers route drainage around basement walls, offsets, columns, and other obstacles.
Durable Drainage Core
The manufacturer reports a minimum average compressive strength of 6,000 psf for the drainage core under its published test method.
A complete waterproofing system
How Multi-Flow Helps Keep a Basement Dry
Multi-Flow is not a stand-alone cure for every moisture problem. It performs as one component in a professionally designed system that may also include wall drainage, washed stone, a sump basin, one or more pumps, discharge piping, vapor protection, and exterior water management.
KCS evaluates the entry point, foundation type, floor elevation, hydrostatic pressure, pump requirements, and discharge route before recommending a system. Learn more about our complete basement waterproofing services.

Fittings allow the drainage layout to transition, turn, terminate, and connect to transport piping.
A practical alternative
Multi-Flow Compared with a Conventional Round Perimeter Pipe
Both products can be effective when properly specified and installed. The right choice depends on the foundation, available space, water volume, serviceability needs, and the complete waterproofing design.
| Design consideration | Multi-Flow panel drain | Conventional round drain pipe |
|---|---|---|
| Collection profile | ✓ Tall, broad filtered face | Water generally enters around the pipe perimeter |
| Channel width | ✓ Thin panel can fit a narrow trench | Requires room for pipe diameter plus surrounding stone |
| Routing flexibility | ✓ Bendable core and numerous fittings | Turns usually require elbows and rigid connections |
| Soil filtration | ✓ Factory-wrapped geotextile | Depends on pipe, sock, stone, and fabric design |
| Best application | Compact, engineered collection at walls, slabs, and foundations | Traditional perimeter conveyance and higher-volume transport runs |
Installation concepts
Designed for Foundation and Under-Slab Drainage
Manufacturer design details show Multi-Flow used vertically at structures and beneath slabs. The exact placement in an existing basement is determined by the foundation and site conditions.

Under Foundation or Slab
A low-profile drain may be placed beneath or beside a slab to intercept subsurface water and relieve pressure before it reaches the finished space.

Along a Wall or Structure
Vertical placement creates multiple collection points along the drainage layer and directs water downward to an outlet or perimeter system.
Questions homeowners ask
Multi-Flow Basement Waterproofing FAQs
Does Multi-Flow stop water from entering the foundation?
Interior drainage generally manages water after it reaches the foundation perimeter. It collects the water and directs it to a sump system so it does not spread across the basement. Exterior waterproofing or drainage may also be recommended when surface water, grading, gutters, or hydrostatic pressure must be addressed.
Does the basement floor have to be opened?
Most retrofit interior perimeter systems require a controlled strip of concrete to be removed near the wall. The drainage components are installed below the slab, then the concrete is restored. The amount of removal depends on the selected system and foundation conditions.
Is a sump pump required?
Most interior drainage systems need a reliable discharge point. In many basements, that is a sump basin and pump. KCS sizes and configures the pump system according to expected water volume, lift, discharge route, and backup needs.
Can Multi-Flow be used with a wall vapor barrier?
Yes, a wall membrane can direct wall seepage into the perimeter drainage system. The appropriate wall treatment depends on whether moisture is entering through block, poured concrete, cracks, joints, or condensation.
Is Multi-Flow right for every basement?
No single drainage product is best for every home. KCS selects systems based on foundation type, footing layout, water source, sediment conditions, serviceability, and the total waterproofing plan.
